Managing the Safety of Medical Personnel During Radiological Procedures

Can radiation health examinations be omitted?

No, health examinations cannot be omitted for radiological procedures.

Health examinations for radiation are a special type of screening examination. In addition to receiving regular periodic examinations, medical radiation workers must also receive a health examination for radiation. Except for personnel that are performing radiation work for the first time or in cases where there is a high likelihood of the exposure dose changing due to reassignment, for example, if the exposure does not exceed 5 millisieverts per year, then the examination simply involves answering a questionnaire every six months.
