In Japan, where typhoons, earthquakes, and other natural disasters are common, disaster prevention measures have long been a subject of interest. Evacuation drills for local residents are held during ordinary times, before disaster strikes, at various localities every year. Countermeasures for multiple calamities during a disaster, including tsunamis and fires, are also important. It is essential to consider countermeasures for nuclear power disasters as well, as a type of multiple disaster. Countermeasures include assessing the characteristics and properties of radiation and radioactive materials, minimizing radiation exposure to each one of you during the disaster to the extent possible, and preserving important assets. The information required for this is provided here.
